Paris Saint Germain stars threw a mini-party in celebration of their 4-0 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
A brace from Angel Di Maria followed by goals from Edinson Cavani and Julian Draxler helped pile on mystery on the Catalan giants at the Parc Du Princes much to the dismay of Lionel Messi and company.
After the victory, birthday boys Di Maria and Cavani decided to continue the feast in the dressing room with a sparking birthday celebration with the rest of the squad.
In a different snaps uploaded to the social media, Dim Maria was seen with a cake in the dressing room with his Paris Saint Germain teammates.
Speaking about their performance, the Argentine winger said: ‘It was a very special day, It’s impossible to have a better performance and birthday. It was a wonderful display and fully deserved. ‘We controlled the game for 90 minutes.
It was hard to control Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi but we managed it in the end. ‘We covered so much ground, got the win and took a huge step forward. We’ve been showing this (quality) for a few years now. ‘Our aim is to win the Champions League.
We had a tough game against one of the best teams in the world and we did great. There is still more to do at the Camp Nou, they will put pressure on us and to get through we’ll have to do the same as what we did tonight.’
Barcelona now face a herculean task in the second leg of the fixture at the Camp Nopu as no side has ever come back to win from a 4-0 deficit in the history of Champions League.
