Congress (APC) in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, has been emptied, as the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, received some political
stakeholders and their supporters of the APC in the area.
The defection came in fulfilment of a recent promise made by the Former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Samuel Efanga, to bring more members to support Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019.
Speaking at the event, held at the PDP Secretariat, Odot, the Former Member Representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Asuquo Udo Darby, said apart from returning to the Party he saw to the formation, his cross carpeting is due to Governor Udom Emmanuel’s good plan, which he stressed, has taken Akwa Ibom State to greater heights.
“Last we had a courtesy call with Governor Udom Emmanuel, we are six in this local government making what we known as elders, major General Edet Akpan is one, Akpan Akon is two, Dr Uko and I, Udo isim and prof Richard Ibiam. When I heard from Governor Emmanuel saying he has something for Akwa Ibom. This was what inspired me to come back and support his directives for the growth of the State.
“I promised Governor Udom Emmanuel that I will come back after he had explained his plan for the State, and for seeing what he has done so far for the State. This is why I am here.”
